Venclexta (venetoclax) inhibits a certain protein in cancer cells (the abnormal lymphocytes produced in chronic lymphocytic leukemia), which helps keep these cells alive and make them resistant to chemotherapy. Venetoclax binds to this protein and helps kill cancerous lymphocytes in the blood and bone marrow.
